Uruaçu, Goiás, Brazil, IAB iron, approx. 300kg. The Meteoritical Bulletin
Nr. 86 knows of four masses that have been recovered since 1992: (1) 29 kg,
(2) 25.2 kg, (3) 300 g, and (4) 18 kg, on the property of Mr. Wilson
Rezende. Pictured is a recent find that appears to be the main mass of the
Uruaçu meteorite. The specimen was found by prospectors at a depth of two
feet by the help of detectors in 2005. The mass is estimated 300kg. About
three quaters of the mass have been excavated but due to the remoteness of
the terrain the massive rectangular meteorite has not yet been removed from
it's find location. The owner does not intend to do so unless a buyer is
found. Scalecube pictured on top of the meteorite is 1cm each side.
