KENDLETON METEORITE
This stone meteorite fell on May 2, 1939 in Fort Bend County, Texas. The fireball was witnessed by thousands in Houston, Galveston and the surrounding cities. The magazine cover pictured to the left is from May 21 and gives a somewhat dramatized impression of the historic event. Pictured below is a 11.8 gram crusted partslice of the Kendleton (L4) chondrite.
