Rocks From Space Picture of the Day

Campo del Cielo, 7.4 kilogram regmaglypted individual of this popular IA group coarse octahedrite. This particular piece was purchased as a "Baygorria" meteorite at the Munich Mineral fair in 2005. The well preserved specimen gives us some vague impression of it's pristine character, before 6000 years of corrosion attack took their toll. NMR scale cube is 1cm.
